Tony’s Story
the last eleven months, I have completed two novels from scratch and updated and edited a book I published over ten years ago. I finished the third novel, The Final Cross, in less than three months. I don’t know whether I knocked myself on the head or this massive output was simply a matter of timing, but I’ve been on fire. And with any luck, you’ll enjoy the work I’ve been putting out there.
People always ask me, “How do you develop the characters?” “How do you come up with the storylines?” My stock answer is, “I haven’t a clue.” And to a degree, that’s true, in that I don’t have a specific process, some algorithm for any of it. I write organically, and I develop all of it as I go. However, I take what I’ve learned about people, both the good and the bad, and I apply it to my characters. The storyline is more the result of an active imagination than anything else.
My life began and will end with writing. No, no, I’m not about to die. However, I feel that as long as there is life in these fingers, I will continue this roll and keep writing until the bitter end. And I started my life as a young child, actively writing vivid stories and excelling in creative writing. Then, as a teen, my passion for writing morphed into journalism, and I was chosen as the Editor-In-Chief of the Columbine High School newspaper, The Columbine Courier. Yes, that Columbine.
I remember the joy I experienced when I wrote controversial editorials and stories. I also began to explore journalism as a career seriously; but somehow, I pursued business. So, I redirected my powers of persuasion to sales and marketing. I entered the securities business and, later, the commercial mortgage banking world and I had a very successful career from a financial standpoint.
But there was an emptiness. The forty-plus years I spent flogging financial instruments yielded the big paychecks, so my soul stayed on ice for that era.
Finally, after retiring at 62, I had the time and resources to pick up the pen again, and off I went. I plan to continue to write fiction and a biography or two – for the rest of my life.
Writing has consumed me after all these years; perhaps knowing I've always had it in me, I'm making up for lost time. It’s something that never went away, the passion and, some would say, the natural ability. I begin a new book, and I live in that world. The characters become known to me; some become my friend, and others I dread. It’s a wonderful escape; time will tell whether my writing brings you joy. I certainly hope so.

Eddolls lives in Kula, Maui, Hawaii, with his wife, Christine, and their two rescue dogs and purebred Golden Retriever, Hokulani. Between them, they have seven adult children and eight grandkids.
Before 2022, when he became an Indie Author of crime fiction thrillers, self-publishing six titles, within two attached series, he spent 42 years in the world of finance. He began on Wall Street, then moved into mortgage banking. He started Tower Mortgage in 1993, became an officer and Vice President of Bayview Lending Group, and developed 6 residential condo projects in Austin, Texas, before leaving that world.
His experience as a dealmaker and entrepreneur has ironically provided him with unique perspectives, experiences, interactions, venues, and much more, all of which allows him to give his characters and storylines intensely plausible color, description and even dialog. Few writers have this depth of life experience to draw upon.
