Genre: Crime Fiction
A New Chapter for ex-FBI SAC David Stilley as Reader Favorite Stilley launches his Private Sector Partnership with Billionaire entrepreneur Andrew Schiff - and Reliance International Security Inc. accepts the First Case - perhaps Too Soon? You be the judge! Expected Release - Late November 2026
David Stilley, former FBI Special Agent, embarks on a new venture with billionaire Andrew Schiff, launching an elite international security firm. As David adjusts to a life of luxury—trading his bulletproof Suburban for a Bentley—his past struggles with trust and family resurface in this high-stakes world. Just as they finalize their partnership, they encounter the dark ambitions of Miles Anderson, a mob-connected ex-hedge fund manager, and Jeremy Hewitt, a brilliant but antisocial scientist. Hewitt has developed TE-20, a groundbreaking molecule, but his partnership at Atomic Research threatens his control over it. Driven to own the invention outright, he plans a hostile takeover, even if it means aligning with Anderson and the Rispali crime family.
As Jeremy and Miles plot to seize Atomic Research, David and Andrew race to uncover their scheme. David grapples with the freedom and chaos of the private sector, learning that without government constraints, deception lurks everywhere. His investigation reveals Jeremy's desperation and the lengths he will go to in order to eliminate his partners and secure TE-20. When David discovers the Rispali family's involvement, the stakes skyrocket. He must navigate a web of crime and betrayal, all while assembling a team that can match his former FBI squad.
The David Stilley Private Adventures Series will expand our insight into the reader-favorite protagonist, David Stilley. His exposure to the experience and wisdom from his partner, Andrew Schiff, will set the stage for challenges, opportunities, risk, and just Stilley's new income and perks, provided by Schiff's generosity, he finds uncomfortable. Instantly making a $750,000 salary as the CEO of an international security start-up; driving a Bentley SUV to the same grocery store or dropping his kids off at school - these things are foreign to Stilley and complicate his life. He's working on accepting the value he brings to the partnership, but it takes time and effort.
The first case throws plenty at our guy: the mob, two murders and counting, protecting the client, who happens to be an old college friend of Patrice - Stilley's wife- and much more. The author will also expose Stilley's biggest challenge: how this issue arises and the crisis that follows, creating pages of tension. Without spoiling the book, we'll simply say - Stilley no longer wears a badge; he no longer has any powers that any other citizen has; even defending himself or others might become a liability. Finally, with over $100 million of capital, and if someone connected Andrew to the business, they would realize what a target the business could become.
Problems to solve, challenges to overcome, and even the acceptance of the rise in stature are all laid bare as issues he never considered. Don't worry - Book Two is already in development - Stilley moves forward in his new life. What would the story be for our guy if he wasn't facing a massive problem or two?
